When I started to collect the images to put on this site I began to realize how much music and musicians have played a large part in my creative process. I don't work in silence. I like to listen to the same music while working on individual pieces and I love to work with musicians as the subject of my work. When we moved to the Portland area my goal was less stress and more art. For the first couple of years I consumed myself in the creation of new work every chance I got. By posting in a few places on the internet like myspace and craigslist I had a few groups willing to work in trade for the raw photos and the edited works. Adopted Highway was one of those groups. They are a blues/folk duo that had moved from New Mexico shortly before this photoshoot.
